Random Ramblings is now Do Follow
I’ve installed the Comment Luv plugin on my blog because I think its really cool and it allows you to add a link to your last post in the comments. This I thought has two major benefits, firstly other readers can see you the link to your then last post and thus you can get visitors to your blog and secondly it helps you to build backlinks to your blog.
I was very happy about it until I noticed, while moderating a comment, that there was a no follow tag attached to the link. Apparently WordPress automatically adds no follow tags to links in comments. Its not really a big deal, but I thought that the Comment Luv links were extremely useful to my commentators so I was slightly disappointed.
I’ve now installed Lucia’s Linky Love plugin that removes the no follow tag from the comment links. Also it lets you can set a threshold for the number of comments from a commentator before the no follow tags are removed from the comments for new commentator. I would encourage you to install the plugin too if you really want to share the Link Luv .

YAY! That’s really cool, you gave me a reason to spam this blog
J/k
Definitely, you get more and more comments through comment luv plugin which is pretty cool, but, at the same time, people make small comments just to gain the comment luv juice!
In anyway, I wish you luck with this blog. Have a good time.

Just check weather the Do-Follow plugin is actually working. I checked the links of all the above comments and they are No-Follow. Anyway, My blog is also Do-Follow and it is indeed a good thing that you also plan to make your blog Do-Follow.

Yes the Lucia’s Linky Love plugin is active. Its set at the default options of 3 matches before author or comment links become do follow to avoid spam.
BTW how do you check if a link is do follow or not?

Welcome to the do follow movement. I am glad you have switched over and I am using the same plugin. I have it set to remove the no follow tag after the second comment. This helps stop some of the spam drive bys

I use the commentluv also. I think it works great. I haven’t tried the other Luicia Linky love. I had grabbed another plugin I believe its just DoFollow. I might check yours out as I cannot set the number of comments. though I don’t get alot of spam comments just some.

You’re welcome to try Lucia’s Linky Love. I also have Akismet to block spam comments, and it has blocked 14 comments already. Comment moderation would be so hectic without Akismet.
